How to reach us, and answers to the usual questions.

Email hello@emberfortwo.app and a person replies, usually within a day. Inside Ember, the menu button at the top right has Feedback, which goes to the same place. For anything about your account, write from the email address you signed in with.

Getting in

• Getting it. On iPhone, Ember for Two on the App Store. On Android and desktop, emberfortwo.app in a browser, added to the home screen if you like. The app and the web open the same account.
• Sign in. Ember uses Sign in with Apple or Google. There is no password of its own. Whichever you used the first time is the one that opens your account; in the iPhone app, Settings can link the other so either button works.
• Your PIN. Each of you chooses a 4 to 8 digit PIN when you start or join. It locks the app after a few minutes and whenever it goes to the background. Change it under Settings, Change PIN. In the iPhone app you can use Face ID instead.
• Forgotten PIN. Email us from the address you signed in with and we reset it. Your answers and nights are untouched.
• Invites. Whoever starts the couple gets a link and a six-letter code. The link works once and expires in seven days; a new one can be made from Home or Settings at any time.

Using Ember

• The list. Answer yes, maybe or no for yourself. Neither of you sees the other's answers until both lists are marked complete. A no is never used in a night, at any level.
• Nights. The menu builds nights from what you both said yes to. Swipe any step for another, drag steps into your own order, or add one. A night you have changed is marked Yours; favorite it to keep it through a restock.
• Notifications. They only ever say Ember. Turn them on under Settings, Notifications. On iPhone the web version needs to be added to the home screen first; the App Store app does not.
• Walkthroughs. Each page shows a short tour once. Run any of them again from How Ember works, in the menu.

Billing

• Plans. The list, the comparison and the first night are free. Ember Plus is $6.99 a month, $39.99 a year with a free week, or $79 once, and one plan covers both partners.
• Manage or cancel. Settings, Account, then the plan line. Plans are bought and managed on the website, never through the App Store, and the iPhone app shows the same plan once you are signed in.
• Refunds. Annual and Lifetime purchases are refunded in full within 14 days if you email us; a refund ends the plan. Monthly plans run to the end of the period you paid for and are not refunded for part of a month.

Privacy and your data

• What we keep. Your answers, nights, notes, wishes and photos, encrypted on our servers with a key kept apart from the database. Nobody outside your couple can read them. No ads, no trackers inside the app, nothing sold.
• Download everything. Settings, Your data, Download everything, as one file.
• Delete your account. Settings, Delete account. It removes your answers, ratings, photos and notifications for good. Your partner keeps their own answers and can invite someone new.
• Photos. A photo sent inside Ember stays inside Ember, is never saved to a camera roll, and is deleted after 24 hours or after one look if the sender chose that.
