EmberOpen Ember

Two minutes

Get Ember on your phone.

On iPhone, Ember is on the App Store. On Android and anywhere else it is a web app you add to your home screen, where it opens full screen with no browser around it and notifications can reach you. Both open the same account.

iPhone (iOS 26 and later)

Install Ember for Two from the App Store, open it, sign in with Apple or Google and choose your PIN. Face ID can stand in for the PIN after that.

Or add the web app instead

  1. Open emberfortwo.app/app in Safari.
  2. Tap the ••• button at the bottom right of Safari.
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen. If it is not in that menu, tap Share and find it in the share sheet.
  4. Leave Open as Web App switched on and tap Add.
  5. Close Safari and open Ember from your home screen. Sign in with Apple or Google and choose your PIN.
  6. When Ember asks, allow notifications. They only ever say "Ember" on the lock screen.

iPhone (iOS 25 and earlier)

Install Ember for Two from the App Store, open it, sign in with Apple or Google and choose your PIN. Face ID can stand in for the PIN after that.

Or add the web app instead

  1. Open emberfortwo.app/app in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  4. Close Safari and open Ember from your home screen. Sign in with Apple or Google and choose your PIN.
  5. When Ember asks, allow notifications. They only ever say "Ember" on the lock screen.

Android

  1. Open emberfortwo.app/app in Chrome.
  2. Tap Add it on the card Ember shows, or open Chrome's menu (three dots) and tap Add to Home screen, then Install.
  3. Open Ember from your home screen, sign in with Google, and choose your PIN.

Already have the web app on your home screen? Keep it, or install the App Store app and sign in the same way; nothing is lost, everything lives in your account. Have an older icon? Touch and hold it, tap Remove, then add it again the same way. Nothing is lost; everything lives in your account.

Show the steps for other phones

Then

Your partner has already started. Open the invite link they sent you, or type the six-letter code from it, and Ember connects the two of you. Your list is private until you have both finished it.
