Terms of service

The short, honest version.

Last updated October 6, 2026.

Who can use Ember

You must be 18 or older. Ember is for two consenting adults in a relationship with each other. By using it you confirm both of those things.

What Ember is

Ember is a planning tool. It shows you where your lists overlap and suggests nights built from that overlap. It is not medical, psychological, or relationship advice, and it does not know anything about your health, your history, or your limits beyond what you tell it.

Consent comes first

Everything Ember suggests is a suggestion. Either partner can decline, swap, pause, or stop anything at any time, before or during a night, without explanation. A no in the app is never used, but a no said out loud matters more than anything in the app. Agree on a safeword before anything intense, and look after each other afterward.

Safety

Some items on the list involve restraint, impact, or other activities that can cause harm if done carelessly. The explanations in the app are brief and are not a substitute for learning how to do something safely. You are responsible for your own safety and your partner's.

Your account

Keep your PIN to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your sign-in. Do not share your invite link with anyone other than your partner.

Your content

Your answers, ratings, and notes are yours. We store them only to run the service, as described in the privacy policy.

Availability and changes

Ember is provided as is. We aim to keep it running and to keep your data safe, but we make no guarantees about uptime, and the features may change. If a paid plan is introduced, its terms will be shown before you pay.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for anything that happens as a result of using Ember. Use judgment, communicate, and be kind to each other.
